Alcoholism and the God “Thing”

Listen to the Podcast - How God Cures Alcoholism

First, I love the Lord. He’s dragged me from the darkness of my alcoholism and transformed me to the core.

And…

I sincerely believe that Alcoholics in Recovery must ACT.

You can’t sit in your Laz-Boy and ponder God’s plan for your life.
Guess what - 80% of God’s Plan for your life is known!

- He had plans to prosper you
- He has plan for an abundant life
- He wants you to be the light of the world
- He wants you to be the salt of the earth
- He wants you to demonstrate his love to a hurting world

The Bible is chock-full of God’s explicit plan for your life. Don’t duck responsibility by delaying your recovery because you don’t know God’s plan.

Recovery for an Alcoholic is accomplished THROUGH action.

Get to work on the 80% that is known - and the other 20% will be revealed to you.

And if you are a coach, sponsor, or loved one supporting an alcoholic - please, please, please -

“Don’t dish out hollow God Has a Plan cliches without reminding the person you care about that they have work to do now. God is there for them now. God has a blueprint ready for their courageous action now.”

Brothers and sisters - get it done.

Get Real and Get Well

You almost got me there buddy. I was reaching for the delete key when I realized that simply deleting these kind of posts is actually counterproductive.

Are you an Alcoholic - A Recovering Alcoholic?

    Let me be clear.

God is absolutely essential to anyone recovering from Alcoholism. I do believe that genetic predisposition is why some people succumb to alcoholism more readily than others.

I’m not debating the cause of Alcoholism. I am stating that God is critical for the Cure.

Thanks for your reasoned and “civil” reply.

I love the fact that you are willing to speak the truth. God really can turn utterly hopeless situations around. I know - he did in my own life back in 1976 and I have not wanted a drink since!
